Corporate responsibility

Principles of sponsorship and charity

In our activities, we pursue organisational values and acknowledge that as a centre of the Estonian securities market, we affect the destiny of people and organisations. We recognise our liability for all our decisions and activities.

Within the limits available to us, we wish to support the development of Estonia and focus on the following areas.

1. Development of investment culture

The NASDAQ OMX Tallinn supports projects that contribute to the development of the investment culture in Estonia.

  • The NASDAQ OMX Tallinn engages in cooperation with the Junior Achievement Fund, advising and assisting the development of training programmes in the areas of saving and investment and the preparation of relevant training materials.
  • The NASDAQ OMX Tallinn participates in organising 2Day.ee — an investment game and training programme aimed at the upper secondary school pupils in Estonia.
  • The NASDAQ OMX Tallinn cooperates with the Ministry of Finance in organising an annual essay contest for pupils.
  • The NASDAQ OMX Tallinn is willing to support also other projects that are likely to contribute to and promote the investment culture in Estonia. Such projects may include information events, publishing of study materials, events aimed at pupils, etc.

2. Joy from small good deeds

As the employees of NASDAQ OMX Tallinn and Estonian CSD we are aware of the events taking place around us, and we try to make our small contribution to resolving the problems of society.

  • We encourage the people who have joined the funded pension system to renounce the printed balance settlement of their pension account in favor of electronic version in order to preserve nature. We donate 3 kroons per each such person to the Estonian Fund for Nature that invests the amount in the development of nature education of children and youth.
  • We promote economic lifestyle and avoid spending on impersonal souvenirs. Therefore, we have decided to give up the tradition of corporate Christmas gifts and instead donate the money saved for charity — for financing the annual Christmas project. We carry out Christmas projects in cooperation with the Club of Small Good Deeds (Väikeste Heategude Klubi), making presents to the children of the Palivere Children’s Orphanage Home. It is important for us that our small contribution has a clear focus, developing value for children and that it continues over the years.
